Your Best First Impression: Using AI to Write Your Agent Bio and Website Copy
Most agents' websites have a bio that's either painfully corporate ("John is a dedicated professional committed to excellence...") or embarrassingly thin. Your bio is often the first thing a potential client reads before deciding whether to call you — and AI can help you write one that actually makes them want to.
Start with Your Bio
Your agent bio has one job: make someone feel like they already know and trust you before they've ever spoken to you. That means it needs to be specific, human, and focused on the client — not just a list of your credentials.
Step 1: Brain Dump Your Details
Before you prompt AI, jot down the raw material it needs to work with. Think about:
- How long you've been in real estate and what you did before
- What areas or neighborhoods you specialize in
- Who your typical clients are (first-time buyers? downsizers? investors?)
- What you're known for or what clients say about you most
- Any personal details that make you relatable (local roots, family, hobbies)
- Awards, certifications, or notable achievements
You don't need to write full sentences — bullet points are fine. AI will do the writing.
Step 2: Feed It In
You are a professional copywriter specializing in real estate. Write an agent bio for a
real estate agent with the following details:
- [Years] years in real estate, previously worked in [prior career]
- Specializes in [neighborhoods/areas]
- Primarily works with [buyer/seller/investor type]
- Known for [what clients say — e.g., "being calm in stressful situations" or "deep neighborhood knowledge"]
- Personal: [local ties, family, hobbies — whatever feels relevant]
- Credentials: [licenses, certifications, awards]
Write two versions: one in third person (for the website About page) and one in first person
(for a more personal feel). Each should be 150–200 words. Tone: warm, confident, and
approachable — not stiff or corporate.
You'll get two solid drafts immediately. Pick the one that resonates, or pull pieces from both.
Step 3: Make It Sound Like You
Read the draft out loud. If any sentence makes you cringe or sounds like someone else wrote it, flag it and ask AI to rewrite just that part:
"The second paragraph feels too formal. Rewrite it to sound more like I'm talking to a neighbor, not giving a speech."
Keep iterating until you'd feel comfortable reading it to a client sitting across from you.
Website Copy Beyond the Bio
Your bio is just one page. AI can help with the rest of your site too.
Home Page Headline and Tagline
The headline is the first thing visitors see — it should speak directly to what your clients want, not just announce who you are.
Instead of: "Welcome to the Jason Hernandez Real Estate Group"
Try: "Find Your Place in [City] — With an Agent Who Actually Knows It"
Ask AI to generate 5–10 headline options based on your market and specialty, then pick the one that fits.
"Write 8 homepage headline options for a real estate agent who specializes in helping first-time buyers in the Austin, TX area. Tone should be friendly, confident, and local. Avoid clichés like 'your dream home awaits.'"
Services or Specialty Pages
If you have a page describing what you do for buyers or sellers, AI can draft that too. Give it a few bullet points about your process and ask it to write a 100–150 word description that focuses on the client's experience, not just your steps.
Testimonials — When You Don't Have Many Yet
If you're newer to real estate or just redesigning your site, ask past clients for a few words about working with you — even informal texts or emails work. Paste those in and ask AI to help polish them into clean, quote-ready testimonials (with the client's permission, of course).
One Thing AI Can't Do
AI can write a great bio based on what you tell it — but it can't invent who you are. The agents with the best bios aren't the ones who found the cleverest prompt. They're the ones who gave AI something real to work with.
Be specific. Share the story behind why you got into real estate. Mention the neighborhood you grew up in. Talk about the type of client you genuinely love working with. That specificity is what makes a bio memorable.
Your website is working for you 24/7 — make sure it sounds like the real you.
